On second thought, maybe i was wrong, character switching is not a good idea at all. so i get to become lanky and come here again. i have to find a barrel to become tiny before i forget about them, and when i do and return to grab them i see that there are blue baloons there too. i am diddy kong, doing some stuff and then i spot some purple bananas. I understand that they needed a mechanism to prevent you from facing the boss before you did some progress on the level, but seriously? THIS is what makes character switching a pain in the ass. And i dont mean the golden bananas, i mean the normal ones. It is due to the fucking banana collecting. I understand that the game hasn't aged well and i am not eager to replay it soon, but that is not due to character switching and backtracking. When it came out it was one of the games that made those who didnt have a nintendo 64 jealous. Hailfire peaks is my favourite one though.ĭK64 is not as bad as some people claim in my opinion. mayahem temple for example is a much better world than grunty industries. All these trainloads of comic relief make the game really enjoyable although some levels i dont enjoy as much as others. i take it as a chance to spend more time on their charming levels.īanjo tooie is my choice between them because it has more surreal and fun dialogues (although watching psycho-K.Rool threatening his minions is always fun too). both games are really fun for me, i know why some people can find them tedious or messy, but when i sit to play them i usually have a lot of time to spare so i dont become frustrated by the character switching or the backtracking. I love both games but i prefer banjo-tooie currently.
